Before you begin
You need a SalesView user with Admin permissions.
Sales Tools must be on for your site. See Granting Sales Tools Access.
Your standard deposit should already be set. See Setting or Changing Deposit Amounts.
Open your Sales Tools settings
In SalesView, select Sites in the left menu.
Select Edit on the site you want to change.
Under Sales Operations, select Payments & Deposits.
Scroll down to the Sales Tools section. It has two parts: Deposits and Sales tax.
Common tasks
Turn off custom deposits
Use this when every quote should use your standard deposit.
Under Deposits, uncheck Allow custom deposit percentage.
Uncheck Allow custom deposit amount.
Select Preview to check it, then Publish.
đĄ Tip: To let dealers work in percentages only, uncheck just Allow custom deposit amount.
Set deposit limits for dealers
Use this when dealers can adjust the deposit, but only within a range.
Make sure Allow custom deposit percentage, Allow custom deposit amount, or both are checked.
For percentages, enter the lowest and highest values in Minimum % and Maximum %.
For dollar amounts, enter the lowest and highest values in Minimum $ and Maximum $.
Select Preview to check it, then Publish.
â ď¸ Note: Percentage and dollar limits are separate. Set both if dealers can use either option.
Turn off custom sales tax
Use this when tax is built into your pricing or calculated automatically.
Under Sales tax, uncheck Allow custom tax amounts.
Select Preview to check it, then Publish.
Good to know
Limits are optional. Leave any Minimum or Maximum field blank for no limit on that side.
What dealers see: if a dealer enters a deposit outside your range, Sales Tools won't accept it and shows the allowed range.
Automatic tax still applies. Turning off custom tax only removes the manual override. Tax from an integration still applies.
Saved quotes keep their tax. Turning off custom tax doesn't remove tax from quotes that were already saved.
Nothing changes until you publish. Use Revert to undo unpublished changes.
After you publish
Let your dealers know, especially if they're used to adjusting the deposit or tax.
Open Sales Tools from a dealer link and try a deposit outside your range to confirm the limit message appears.
