Using Interior Walls in IdeaRoom

This guide explains how to use the Interior Walls feature and highlights the available options in IdeaRoom’s 3D Configurator.

💡 Interior Walls (Overview)

The Interior Walls feature allows you to add Divider Walls and Partition Walls inside your 3D building in IdeaRoom.

Divider Walls

Divider Walls are used to split the interior space into separate Rooms.

For example, if you place a Divider Wall that spans the full width or length of the building, IdeaRoom automatically creates two distinct rooms.

Once rooms are created, you can customize each one by adding:

  • Floors

  • Ceilings

  • Enclosed perimeter walls

What You Can Do With Interior Walls

This feature enables you to:

  • Create multiple rooms within a building

  • Build smaller rooms inside larger spaces (such as closets, bathrooms, or storage areas)

What you should know:

  • ❗Only available for Carports, Post Frame and Red Iron buildings.

  • 💰For visual purposes only. We are not able to price these line items in the 3D configurator, yet.

Make sure the following prerequisites are met:

  • ✅ The Interior Walls feature is enabled and has been implemented for your product.


🚀 How to Add an Interior Wall

Follow these steps to add and customize an interior wall in your 3D building:

  1. Open Your 3D Building

    • Navigate to the product configurator.

    • Open the building you want to modify.

  2. Access the Interior Option

    1. In the right-hand panel, select the Interior menu.

    2. Click Interior Walls icon.

  3. Select the Wall to Customize.

    1. Wall Finish: Updates the interior wall material

    2. Orientation: Places wall widthwise or lengthwise

    3. Length: Determines how long the wall should be

  4. Add Components to a Wall

    1. Select a Component to add to the Wall

  5. Add Ceiling, Flooring or Perimiter Wall Material to a Room

    1. For each Room, you can add a ceiling, a floor, and perimeter wall material


Notes

  • Selecting a Perimeter Wall Material in a Room will apply that material to all walls within that room.

  • A wall is only considered a Divider Wall if it spans the full length or full width of the building.
