💡 What Are Mezzanines?
The Mezzanines feature lets you add an interior platform (mezzanine) to your 3D building in IdeaRoom. You can also include railings for safety and aesthetics, and add stairs that can be positioned on the left or right — with or without landings.
This feature allows customers to:
Showcase multi-level space configurations inside a building.
Visualize interior access and safety features (like stairs and railings).
Offer custom design flexibility for clients looking to maximize vertical space.
🧭 Before You Begin
What you should know:
❗Only available for Carports, Post Frame and Red Iron buildings.
💰For visual purposes only. We are not able to price these line items in the 3D configurator, yet.
Make sure the following prerequisites are met:
✅ The Mezzanines feature is enabled and has been implemented for your product.
🚀 How to Add a Mezzanine
Follow these steps to add and customize a mezzanine in your 3D building:
Open Your 3D Building
Navigate to the product configurator.
Open the building you want to modify.
Access the Mezzanine Option
In the right-hand panel, select the Interior menu.
Click Add Mezzanine icon.
Customize the Mezzanine
Choose Depth: Select which bays or sections the mezzanine should occupy.
Adjust Height: Use the dropdown to set mezzanine height
Add Railings: Toggle “Add Railing” to include a front safety barrier.
Add a Stair
Under Stair Placement, choose from:
Left
Left with landing
Right
Right with landing
Preview Your Configuration
The 3D view updates automatically as you make changes.
Rotate or zoom in to verify placement and appearance.
Submit Design
Click Save, Submit for Quote or one of your call to action buttons to submit your design with the mezzanine setup.
The changes will appear in your customer quote and visual preview.
⚠️ FAQs
Q: I don’t see the mezzanine option in my configurator.
A: Confirm that the feature is enabled for your product system. Contact your IdeaRoom account manager, if want to add the feature.
Q: My mezzanine overlaps with a door or window.
A: Adjust the bay placement or mezzanine dimensions to fit the available interior space.
Q: Can I add multiple mezzanines?
A: Currently, only one mezzanine per interior is supported.
