Client Tools are a set of tools for managing your product data — your colors, your flooring options, the menus customers see on your site. In SalesView you'll find them in the left menu under Catalog Editor.
Each tool covers one area and presents it as settings you can read and change, rather than as rows and columns. You choose from lists, fill in labels, and preview the result. The tool takes care of writing the data correctly.
Start here: Publishing Your Changes in Client Tools — a short walk-through of making a change and publishing it.
Which tools you'll see
Client Tools are available on all Boost sites. Which tools appear depends on your industry, so your list may be shorter than another client's — a shed site sees Wall Groups, a carport site sees Mezzanines.
Tool | What it manages |
Ceiling | Ceiling options customers can choose, and which buildings they appear on |
Colors | Your color groups and the colors inside them |
Exterior Siding | Siding materials for the outside of the building |
Flooring | Flooring options, regional pricing, and which one is selected by default |
Header Bars | Header bars above door and window openings |
Interior Walls | Turning on interior divider walls, and the liner and sheathing materials for them |
Menu Order & Labels | The order your configurator menus appear in, and what each one is called |
Mezzanines | Mezzanines, along with their decks, stairs, and porch railings |
Truss Spacing | Frame spacing options and truss carrier dimensions |
Wall Groups | Where doors, windows, and vents can be placed on each wall |
How your changes reach your live site
Nothing you change in the Catalog Editor goes live immediately. Every edit follows the same steps:
Edit. Your changes are saved as pending changes. Customers don't see them yet. A pencil appears beside any tool with changes waiting.
Preview. Open a preview of your site to confirm the change looks and behaves the way you expect.
Review. Select Publish, and the Review changes step lists every pending change — what it affects, the currently published value, your new value, and who made it.
Confirm and publish. Select Continue. A description of the change is filled in for you — edit it if you want something more specific — then tick to confirm you've reviewed the changes and select Publish. Your changes are live.
Publishing releases all pending Catalog Editor changes, including any made by other administrators on your team. It does not publish work done elsewhere in your product data — only changes made in these tools.
That's what the Review changes step is for. Check the Changed By column before you confirm, so you know whose work is going live alongside yours.
Revert discards pending Catalog Editor changes and returns those settings to what was last published. As with publishing, this affects all pending changes in these tools, not only your own.
Getting help
Each tool has its own article covering what it does and the most common tasks.
If something doesn't look right after publishing, contact IdeaRoom Support through the widget in the lower right corner. We can restore an earlier version of your data and republish it.
